The Council

The Jamestown City Council is comprised of four elected positions as well as the Mayor of Jamestown, Katie Andersen. The Council meets the first Monday of each month with the exceptions of holidays where they will meet on Tuesday. Special City Council meetings may be called as needed.

City Attorney

The City Attorney and City Prosecutor represent the City Of Jamestown. In this capacity, they do not represent individual citizens of Jamestown with issues they might have relative to the city. Rather, they act on behalf of the city and city officials providing advice to the City Council and city departments. In addition, the City Prosecutor represents the city in court relative to violations of city ordinances.

Convention & Visitors Bureau

The Jamestown Civic Center/Convention & Visitors Bureau offers convention service support to all groups holding conventions, trade shows, meetings and public events within the City of Jamestown.

Our staff will assist in the coordination of spousal programs, special events and group tours to area attractions. We can connect you with area hospitality industry related businesses who provide a broad range of products, services and venues.

Pre-Event Planning and Bids - JCC staff will prepare letters of invitation from city officials to the site selection committee to hold their convention in Jamestown. If necessary, staff will travel to make presentations to the site selection committee.
Facilitate Site Inspections-Jamestown CVB staff will coordinate details during your visit and liaison with local hotels, attractions, and restaurants.

Publicity - When you book your event through the JCC/CVB we'll make sure your publicity needs are met. Upon request, our staff will prepare a news release on your behalf and send it to targeted media to generate awareness about your event, your organization, its members and its goals.

Guest Activities - Staff is available to assist with suggestions on entertainment, recreation and sightseeing.

Pre-promotion Attendance Builders - In the interest of preparation, you may wish to promote Jamestown at earlier conventions. We have information highlighting our city, as well as brochures profiling our attractions,museums and historical assets.

Liaison to Public Officials - Our staff can assist with welcome letters from city and tourism officials.

Promotional Items - The CVB offers promotional items with the city logo, including bags and lapel pins.

Special Assistance - Need to find a local caterer, meeting site, transportation or assistance? We'll be happy to help you find the services you need, including the scheduling of meetings with all primary parties involved prior to city-wide conventions and meeting tours. We can help coordinate tours for your specific needs and work with the community to develop sight-seeing programs.

The mission of the Jamestown Police Department is to assist the community in creating a safe and peaceful environment, protect life and property and help to ensure an exceptional quality of life.

The Jamestown Police Department operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. In the Uniform Division, our department operates three 8 hour shifts, each 24 hour period. The Investigative Service Division works Monday – Friday and are on call on the weekends. Other services we provide are:
